Terms of Use
Last updated 10 September 2026
Keepsy is a daily photo journal made by Meemo Inc. You keep the year. We do not host it, cannot recover it, and are not responsible for what happens on your device or in your iCloud.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a contract between you and Meemo Inc. (meemoinc), the owner and developer of Keepsy. By downloading, installing, or using Keepsy, or by using this website, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Keepsy.
“Keepsy,” “the app,” “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Meemo Inc. and the Keepsy product. “You” means the person using the app.
2. What Keepsy is
Keepsy is a personal, on-device daily photo journal. The idea is one honest frame a day, locked at midnight, kept for the year you are living. It is not a social network, not a cloud photo service we operate, and not a backup company.
There is no Keepsy account. We do not provide photo hosting. Free use stores your journal on your device. Premium may keep an optional copy in iCloud tied to your Apple ID — a service provided by Apple, not by Meemo Inc.
3. License to use the app
Meemo Inc. grants you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Keepsy on devices you own or control, for your own private journaling, in line with these Terms and the App Store rules.
You may not:
- Copy, sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the app
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except where the law forbids us from stopping you
- Remove proprietary notices, or use Keepsy or Meemo Inc. names, marks, or branding without permission
- Use the app for anything illegal, harmful, or that violates another person’s rights
Keepsy, its design, code, trademarks, and documentation remain the property of Meemo Inc. and its licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the app to you.
4. Your photos, your responsibility
You own the photos and captions you save in Keepsy. Because we never receive them, you do not grant Meemo Inc. a license to your journal, and we do not claim ownership of it.
You are solely responsible for what you capture and keep: that you have the right to save it, that it is lawful, and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights. Meemo Inc. has no ability to moderate, review, or take down journal content we cannot see.
5. Storage — device and iCloud
Your journal is stored on your device. If you use Keepsy Premium, a copy may also be stored in iCloud under your Apple ID, according to Apple’s iCloud terms. Meemo Inc. does not run those stores, does not hold a third copy, and cannot reach either copy.
We are not liable for loss, corruption, delay, or unavailability of your journal on your device or in iCloud — including if you uninstall the app, reset or lose your phone, run out of space, change Apple ID, exceed iCloud quota, disable iCloud, or if Apple’s services fail. We cannot recover a year we never hosted. Backups, device care, and Apple ID security are yours.
6. Premium and Apple
Some features, including optional iCloud backup and certain recaps, may require Keepsy Premium. Premium is sold through the Apple App Store. Payment, taxes, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms. Meemo Inc. does not process your payment card and does not control App Store billing.
iCloud is an Apple service. Availability, encryption, quotas, and support for iCloud are Apple’s. Enabling Premium does not make Meemo Inc. a cloud-storage provider or a custodian of your photos.
7. The app may change
We may update, pause, or discontinue Keepsy, any feature, or Premium benefits. We do not promise that the app will be error-free, always available, or compatible with every future version of iOS. Midnight locking, calendars, and similar behavior depend on your device clock and system settings.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
Keepsy is provided by Meemo Inc. “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, quiet enjoyment, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that your journal will be preserved, that device or iCloud storage will succeed, or that the app will meet your expectations. You use Keepsy at your own risk.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Meemo Inc., its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of photos, data, profits, goodwill, or device, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or otherwise — even if we were told such loss was possible.
Without limiting the above, Meemo Inc. is not liable for:
- Loss or corruption of your journal on your device or in iCloud
- Apple, App Store, or iCloud outages, errors, or policy changes
- Theft, damage, sale, or reset of your device
- Your failure to back up, or to keep your Apple ID secure
- Anything you choose to photograph or write in the app
If, despite these Terms, Meemo Inc. is found liable to you, our total liability for all claims in the aggregate will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid to use Keepsy Premium in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) ten US dollars (US $10). Some places do not allow certain limits; in those places, our liability is limited to the maximum the law allows. These limits protect Keepsy and Meemo Inc. as the owner and developer of a local journal that does not hold your data.
10. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Meemo Inc. and its people from any claim, damage, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of Keepsy, your journal content, your device or iCloud, or your breach of these Terms or of the law. This does not require you to indemnify us for our own willful misconduct where the law forbids that.
11. Third-party services
Keepsy may rely on Apple platforms (iOS, App Store, iCloud, In-App Purchase). Those services are not ours. Your use of them is under Apple’s terms. Meemo Inc. is not responsible for third-party services and is not liable for their acts or omissions.
12. Termination
You may stop using Keepsy at any time by deleting the app. Deleting the app may delete the local journal. We may suspend or stop offering the app. Sections that by their nature should survive (including ownership, storage disclaimers, warranty disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnity) will survive.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms. The date at the top will change. If you continue to use Keepsy after an update, you accept the new Terms. If you do not, delete the app.
14. General
These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Meemo Inc. about Keepsy. If a court finds a part unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, sale, or reorganization of Meemo Inc.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where Meemo Inc. is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer law in your country says otherwise. That consumer law still applies if it cannot be waived.
